Chicken, caramelized onions and prunes for Holidays

INGREDIENTS 

  • Large bowl with hot water

  • 2lb. dry prunes

  • Meat mixture- 1 Lb. ground meat (Beef, chicken, or a mix of two)

  • 1/2 tsp mace

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp Ginger

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp allspice

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Ingredients for the pan-

  • 2 medium onions, chopped

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

  • 1/4-1/2 Ginger

  • r 1/2 tsp white pepper

  • 1/2-1 cup walnuts or almonds

  • 1 cup water

How to make

 Mix cinnamon, ginger, sugar, nutmeg, salt, turmeric with 1/4 cup oil

 Cut chicken breast into 1” chunks 

 Coat in the marinade, refrigerate until ready to cook

  Add 2 Tbsp oil to a pan

 Add all other ingredients, mix well

 Cook on medium-high, then reduce to low

 Cover and cook for 2.5 hours on very low Add chicken , mix well 

 Cover, cook between 20-30 minutes

  Serve warm
